your child can experience while attending Bethel Christian School
Joyce Eggerth

Preschool and Kindergarten
Bethel Christian School provides music classes for these
age groups. The students meet once a week and learn to:
- match pitches,
- match rhythms,
- sing favorite songs,
- movement to music,
- instruments of the orchestra
Children will listen to a variety of musical styles.
Students will perform during chapel services throughout the year.
Kindergarten children perform during our special Christmas Chapel and
our preschool students join them for an Easter Chapel service.
Elementary – First through
Third grades
The children within these age groups also meet once a
week for the first semester. They learn various musical techniques and
some light theory, while practicing music for their fall music program.
Elementary – Fourth through
Sixth grades
These children are exposed to excellent musical
opportunities. The music classes meet once a week for the second
semester. Children learn various musical techniques and some light
theory while preparing for the Spring Music Program.
Elementary Band
Bethel Christian School provides Beginning Band and
Intermediate Band, which meets in the mornings. The band performs at
our elementary fall and spring programs. Your children will enjoy this
wonderful opportunity while participating in the elementary band.
Junior High and High School
Opportunities
Drama class is offered as an elective in the Junior High
and High School divisions. The students learn all aspects of
production, which include lighting, sound, props, as well as acting.
The students perform in a Christmas and Spring drama.
Choir is another elective opportunity for students. The
children learn proper singing techniques while preparing music for
Monday chapel services, and a Praise Fest. Your child will also
participate in various other performances throughout the year.
Chapel Praise Band
A special group of spiritual leaders and musically
inclined students audition to take part in the Chapel Praise Band. The
band leads worship each week in our Junior High and High School chapel
services. They will also lead worship for an occasional Elementary
Chapel and may be involved in other performances throughout the year.
Speech
A speech class is also available as an elective for this
age group. Within this class, students are equipped to communicate
using basic speech techniques. Students will learn interpretation
characterization, poise, blocking, diction, and timing for oral
speeches. Information, persuasive, demonstrative, and debate speeches
are introduced as well as audition speeches, and theater production for
future drama classes.
Private Music Instruction
As a service to parents, we offer private music
instruction throughout the school day. Your child may take a private
thirty-minute lesson in saxophone, clarinet, voice, piano, guitar, and
violin. These lessons may occur before and after school and as often as
possible during one of his/her recess times. Our goal is to provide
these lessons without interfering with his/her class work.
